Area Information
Caia Park Community is a civil parish located in Wrexham County Borough, north-east Wales. This suburb sits several kilometres south of Rhosnesni ward and forms part of the south-east of Wrexham city. The area covers 2.8 km² and held a population of 2,525 residents at the time of the latest available census. While the parish defines a specific administrative boundary, the broader Caia Park estate is recognised as the largest housing estate in Wales. Developed from the early 1950s to plans by town planner Gordon Stephenson, the community was originally named Queens Park before evolving into its current form. The name derives from the old Caia or Ty'n y Caeau farm, which was demolished to make way for the Wrexham and Ellesmere Railway in 1857. Caia Park Community gained formal recognition in 1985 following a Boundary Commission review that established four new community areas in Wrexham. Daily life here is centred around a dense residential area defined by local authority housing and five distinct wards: Cartrefle, Queensway, Smithfield, Whitegate, and Wynnstay.

Demographics
The demographic profile of Caia Park Community reflects a significant older population. The median age for residents is 70 years, a figure that significantly exceeds national averages. This age structure suggests a community where many households consist of older couples or singles rather than young families. Home ownership stands at 36% of households, indicating that the majority of the population lives in rented accommodation. This high rental rate aligns with the area's history of local authority housing development starting in the 1950s. The five wards comprising the community are among Wales' most deprived areas according to the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation. Queensway ward specifically ranks among the 100 most deprived areas in Wales. This area was part of the Welsh Government's Communities First anti-poverty programme until March 2018. The community council, established in 1985, continues to provide essential advice and projects to support residents.
